T10: List #112
Back in 2004, I wrote one of my favourite top 10 lists: The Top 10 Differences Between Voyager and Season 3 of Enterprise. It had a bit of a gimmick to it. I don't generally reuse my gimmicks, but I've been inspired to do a spiritual sequel to this one -- and 18 years seems like enough breathing room between them, no?
This is for Wowbagger's birthday, and it'll make the most sense to him. It's silly, it's self-indulgent, it's a little mean. And it has spoilers for all of DSC and PIC to date, so be warned. It's The Top 10 Reasons to Watch Post-2016 Star Trek! (If the bit about Wowbagger didn't give away what this list is really up to, follow the advice of the disclaimer...)

SHOW ME THE CONTEXT *reads it* Awwwww! This is so sweet! Thank you! What a lovely birthday treat! *several minutes later* I was like "oh man the one time I was ready for a context joke and it wasn't. Stand down to Green Alert." And then I saw Disclaimer One and followed it and that was an EVEN SWEETER birthday present. And then -- AND THEN -- I saw Disclaimer Two.

Your reactions are worth it every time.
 (Explanation for everyone else: I have a weird recurring prank on Wowbagger where I hit him unexpectedly with the pretentious DSC title "Context is For Kings", usually with some kind of elaborate setup. It's like a much wordier circle game. It's not typically a birthday thing -- but in this case I saw an opportunity I just had to take.)

Gotta laugh or we'd cry! But it should help at least a little to know that Excelsior is out there actually delivering all this stuff.
