A breakdown of how typewriters work, and how typewriter tech still dictates keyboard design today.
And the Amazing Thing That I Learned Today is that the carriage return bell isn't rung when you're out of room, but when you're almost out of room so you can plan ahead for split/hyphenated words going to the next line. I had also never heard of typeballs and how you can use them to change the font you're using. I also didn't know that at one point there were typewriters that stuck letter-shaped blots of ink onto the paper weakly enough that you could quickly use a piece of tape to pull said blots off and remove the letter.
