Default This Just In! Kate Mulgrew in London play...

Quote:
Tuesday, April 18th, This Reporter selflessly gave up her planned evening of sitting on the sofa watching TV to travel to Hammersmith, London. She even ran for a bus. In heels. And had sore feet for two days afterwards. “Why?” I hear you ask.

One word, Kate Mulgew.

Hmmm…

Ok, two words.

In a small theatre, in a country barely the size of one small state and populated by lowly Englanders, Ms. Mulgrew graced us with her presence. And what a presence it was. Guest starring in The Exonerated, Ms. Mulgrew gave a winning performance as Sonny Jacobs, who was sentenced to Death Row for a crime she didn’t commit (she narrowly missed getting into the A Team. Hannibal fired her when he realised that she caused Murdock to stutter.)

This Reporter had the best seat in the house. Well, ok no the BEST seat, but it was pretty awesome. Ms. Mulgrew looked charming in an all black ensemble with perhaps, in This Reporters opinion, slightly questionable shoes. This, of course, is totally irrelevant.

Her voice; now that is what we think of when we think of Ms. Mulgrew. Her voice echoed through the room like a… big… echoey… voice. This is in fact the best simile available to describe the unique nature of her… echoeyness.

For the purposes of a fair review, the other actors weren’t bad either.

This Reporter, when approaching Ms. Mulgrew for comment, was promptly marched in the opposite direction. For the purposes of this interview I will now report what I assume she would have said, having had the chance.

This Reporter: Ms. Mulgrew, The Exonerated deals with strong opinions regarding the Death Penalty and the American Justice System in general. Is this subject close to your heart?
Ms. Mulgrew: Yes.
This Reporter: In fact, you’ve come all the way to England to perform among many other great performers.
Ms Mulgrew: Yes.
This Reporter: And you’re enjoying your time here?
Ms Mulgrew: Yes.
This Reporter: Excellent. And, my outfit. Do you like it?
Ms Mulgrew: Yes. You look wonderful. In fact, if I wasn’t married…

So there we have it, what would have been said, from her own mouth, in what would have been her own words. You can’t get much more accurate than that.

Her previous play, Tea at Five, was watched by one Fuyu Ginga. This Reporter interviewed Ms. Ginga for her comments on Ms. Mulgrew’s previous works but all I could get out of her was a high pitched “Squee like” noise, which was omitted whilst running up and down with her arms in the air.

Also interviewed was Losta…Lostaya…Lostyan…

This Reporter didn’t interview anyone else. Kate (we’re on first name terms now, since the conversation about my outfit) was awesome. Go see her. Err, I mean, the play. It’s well worth seeing. It’s about Death Row.

And stuff.
