Default Heart skipped a beat! Yes, yes...another Who thread!

***Spoiler Warning***

Yes right good Doctor episode this week (well I liked it)
BUT!!!!!!

The best bit? The last 10 seconds and the trailer for next weeks episode!!!!!

The 'There's a storm coming' and the Torchwood stuff, ghosts and things invading Earth(?), and CYBERMEN BACK! And Jackie too! And that fantastic way of showing it, i.e. Rose's 'This is the last story I'll ever tell.'(!)(!)

I swear, it was like I was moving at 30mph then suddenly kicked up to Mach 3!

I so can not wait!!!!

I had the same reaction. "Fear Her" is a good story (though the ending is way corny), but I'm dying to see the last two stories. From the trailer looks like Earth gets screwed thanks to blind, officious humans who create the means of our own destruction. Happening every day already.

One way or another Rose looks like she's getting a hell of a send-off.

Happy 'Part 1 of the final Doctor Who two parter' day!

I haven't been this excited about final series episodes since 24! I looking forward to this much more than the last one (Which was quite good), cos there are so many storylines it seems. Cybermen, Torchwood, the ghosts, Daleks, that mysterious sphere, the fate of Rose, not to mention the 'Guest stars' (which could go either way - good or bad).
phew..., I need to go and sit down for a bit...

No spoilers until we've had a chance to watch, OK?

Make that two

It was good, but the next episode, while it looks good, it could equally turn into so much fan-w**k...

Ok. Look away now because of the -

***Spoiler Warning***

Too much to talk about in that ep. So I'm not gonna bother with the big things. But did you see that sarcophagus as Rose left the TARDIS? That was from a Tom Baker Episode! Cute bit.
But to the point. Stick with me here. Now, everone thinks/expects Rose to die, but I have another idea. I think her mum 'Jackie' could be the one instead....
In the trailers, Rose goes on about it being the last story she'll ever tell, and it being when she died - but it seems too easy. Maybe she means 'died' as in 'died inside'? Plus the foreshadowing that 'Rose will die in battle'? Wasn't Jackie posing as Rose in this epiosde?
I don't know. Maybe the ramblings of a man that doesn't want to believe - or manbe something else....
I just never tend to believe what they tell me at the start!

The sarc was a nice touch, yeah.

But, tbh, your theory is too subtle for RTD's style...

Good to see some Dalek ranks returning to the series at last, too...

What did you think of "Doomsday"? I could just about hear Valium's head exploding across the many miles that separate us.

I thought it was really good, though (semi-spoiler), gosh, I didn't think it would all be resolved with a really good vacuuming. And the "This is how I died" thing was definitely overdone for how it turned out to actually have been meant. I was actually more thrilled by "Army of Ghosts." But I enjoyed "Doomsday," and the meaning of the "Genesis Ark" did catch me by surprise. ... Kinda felt bad for Mickey though. He's leaving the show too, and he doesn't get a line in the whole last 15 minutes? But it was all about the goodbye, and I really felt the emotions of those two characters at losing each other forever. Billie Piper kicks ass.

My reaction to the ending was the same as the Doctor's: What? What?!

Yeah, I thought it was pretty good too. The vacuuming end was rather different. I liked Yvonne Hartman coming back 'For Queen and Country!' Question though...she never went through the void. Neither did the other 'new' cybermen that were upgraded on Earth. Did they get sucked in? (Unless the Cybermen brought the parts with them across.) And the "Genesis Ark" got me too. I was certain it would have Davros in it! That would have been a ending!
But yeah, 'the ending'. That was strange! BBC kept that under wraps!

Yeah -- it must be the parts. *cough* Although we really only saw a very small number being converted at Torchwood. Maybe there's a few still about somewhere... I mean, what if a Cyberman was, I dunno, trapped under a rock, or handcuffed to a steel girder or something? Yvonne's bit was interesting, a contrast to alt-Jackie remembering but not feeling in "Age of Steel." I love how she cried axle grease...
