Persian isn't new. Persian is my hero. She sent me a tape of the first five S4 episodes. I owe her a debt that can never be repaiiiiiiiiiiid.

In other news, I really do think that, after turning down $63,000,000 to fund a $36,000,000 show, Paramount must have really had it in for Enterprise. Ratings had nothin' to do with it.
I don't know if it was as much of a vendetta as a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation. As someone's already said, taking any money from the fans to continue the show was a lose-lose scenario.

She did that? And opened the way to Five-Second Ent? You're right. You can't repay her. Except with pie.

Kira, we are a corporation registered with the IRS under the laws of the great state of Tennessee. We can sponsor the show completely legally. That's why I don't understand Paramount's decision.

Valium... grr. Ah, well. It was crazy to begin with. I'm still whining.

I'm not saying it's illegal, I'm saying it's bad from a PR perspective. The point was made that if Paramout takes the money and the new season bites, they look bad by association. If they take the money and the new season rocks, they look stupid. Plus, it opens up a huge can of worms as precedent for production companies taking money from outside sources that I'm sure none of them want to get into. Next could be blackmail -- we'll cancel Show X unless you fans raise $500,000. Bad business all around.
