[color=#000000ost_uid0][bost_uid0]-22:[/bost_uid0] You find yourself thinking of "5M.." abbreviations for shows, then try as hard as you can to resist asking Zeke if he needs another section head....

wait, that sounds entirely too familiar

[iost_uid0]edit: stupid second page interfering w/ my numbering system...[/iost_uid0][/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]-23. You take pride in your ability to tell who wrote a new fiver by reading the first few lines of the fiver (kinda like that game show where you name the song titles). You take great offense at any suggestions that you merely cheat by looking at the author line beneath the episode title.

-23.b. You do not, in fact, need to peek at the author line to tell who wrote it.[/colorost_uid0]

[quoteost_uid0="NAHTMMM"][color=#000000ost_uid0](Edit) I didn't say that it applied to myself, Zeke. I merely hypothesized a qualitatively high probability that the trait postulated is invariably characteristic of a being who has spent an undesirably lengthy time suspended from any of various supports which are in immediate proximity to the "Five-Minute Voyager" website.[/colorost_uid0][/quoteost_uid0]
[color=#000000ost_uid0]Right. My mistake.

[quoteost_uid0]But since you ask, well, I do remember Chakotay got a cameo in "Broken Bow", although that was in connection with the running "wood" joke. Maybe there was something in an ENT fiver about one of the men and one of the women being stranded on a planet together...?[/quoteost_uid0]

Bingo. "Strange New World" has several references to "Resolutions".[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]It's quite all right, Zeke. The first thing that came to mind was a comment about lizard offspring, but then I remembered that wasn't even J/C...

Heh, I just saw the St. Paddy's Day addition to the 5MV homepage. Nice work!

-24. Having been given a writing assignment to discuss a specific work of satire of your choice, you write a five-page essay claiming that "Episode II title causes AI research catastrophe" is the single greatest satirical story in the history of mankind.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]No offense, NAHTMMM, but I find it disconcerting when you edit your posts after other people have posted below you. Typically, whenever there are new posts, I just jump to the bottom post and don't re-read any of the previous posts to see if anyone has amended their previous posts. I know that I personally would prefer that you just append a new post to the end of the discussion (especially since there is no max reply limit), but maybe that's just me.

Edits strike me as being tools for correcting misspellings and grammar, but new thoughts and amendments seem more appropriate as separate posts. (Then again I may just be despising Edits because they keep striking me.)[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I'm with Derek on this one. (In fact, Kira and I had just been discussing it.) Let's keep the discussions linear, folks.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]-25. You don't bother reading synopsis' of Trek episodes to find out what happened any more - you just go to 5MV instead.

I was also going to say something along the lines of being able to name half a dozen fivers off the cuff in which you'dve liked to see the quote "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off", but I think thats just me.[/colorost_uid0]

Linear? What is this?

[color=#000000ost_uid0]- 26. You've memorized entire fivers and scare your friends laughing randomly at lines from them at completely inappropriate times (it's not necassarily funny, but it's true.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]-28. If you've ever pored over the Apocryphive (early drafts of published fivers), trying to find hidden predictions foreseeing the appearance of C/7 and the resulting collapse of the universe. [color=#000000ost_uid0]-30: You type "http://www.3sygma.com/fiveminute/" preceding every series and episode name yet to be published, hoping to find unpublished material.

And yes, i did this -- but not for very many episodes before I gave up (and this was before I was privy to the info to begin with )

-31: You have a gut-wrenching feeling this will become the next "Topic Title".[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Captain Galactic, I've been posting only for a short time but have been READING fivers for a while. So a big "NAY NAY We've crushed you good" to Things are Good!

-35. To my post, you picture me crushing Thing Are Good with a big hammer, even though you have never seen us...or the hammer[/colorost_uid0]
