[color=#000000ost_uid0][quoteost_uid0]Now what the FRELL are you two doing?[/quoteost_uid0]

Well, [iost_uid0]I'm[/iost_uid0] attempting to demonstrate above statement that I am indeed quite as annoying as I seem if not more so, [iost_uid0]apropos[/iost_uid0] some bizarre nonsensical humor, defined in this case as "Humor that mainly I think is funny."

Whereas [iost_uid0]Zeke[/iost_uid0] is either good-naturedly threatening to kick my @$$, or else actually annoyed to the point of desiring to kick my @$$. And therefore [iost_uid0]I[/iost_uid0] am resolving to find out which one before deciding on a further course of action.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]A link to the text of a story I saw in today's paper. There's a short list near the end of the article of several Doctor Who episodes that will be released on DVD on June 1st:

[quoteost_uid0]The Two Doctors

Curse of the Fenric

Seeds of Death

The Three Doctors[/quoteost_uid0][/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]New series news: Apparently the new Doctor Who will be going into production in a few months for broadcast early in 2005, which means we'll hear a casting announcement. One recent odds on favorite is David Warner, who's appeared in the Trek movies and recently played Captain Sawyer in [iost_uid0]Hornblower[/iost_uid0]. The writers have been named and have already started work based on outlines by Russell Davies ([iost_uid0]Queer As Folk[/iost_uid0]). Can't wait ... need cookies to endure ...

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Installment two of the latest Who ebook, [iost_uid0]The Scales of Injustice[/iost_uid0], is up on the BBC Cult site. Apparently Liz Shaw gets a proper send off in this - it possibly be any worse then [iost_uid0]Inferno[/iost_uid0] anyway.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]The new Doctor has been cast, and the BBC managed to snow everyone by hiring powerful young actor Christopher Eccleston, who had no buzz at all (at least until a few days ago).

So far there's been no announcement about foreign distribution. Might be only you lucky blokes with access to BBC1 will get to see him when the new show debuts next year.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]^ Saw something about that this morning, but he's not someone with whom I'm at all familiar. Some of the UK folks at TBBS seemed to think it was good news.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Oh, it is. I was rooting for Bill Nighy myself, but I'm sure Mr. Eccleston will make a cracking Doctor.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]The other major role has been cast: The companion, Rose, will be played by Billie Piper. Fan reaction seems mixed. This woman is unknown to me, but I'm informed she's a pop singer whose only other TV work was an adaptation of one of "The Canterbury Tales" last year.

As always much more info at Outpost Gallifrey.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]It could be worse, but I'm hardly hopping with excitement. I guess it'll come down to how she actually does in the role.[/colorost_uid0]

I know this thread is pretty dead, but I thought I'd just say that if you're not trembling with horror at the new series of DW, your not a proper fan :P

Well, naturally I'm excited, but I can't be exceited all at once you see, otherwise there would be no more left once the series actually arrived. It's all about pacing yourself, you know.

Oh, horror, right. I get that an excitement confused all the time. Odd, that.

Anyway, you can be horrified if you like - that's your perrogative - but I'll stick with excitement myself. At least, I'm pretty sure it's excitement...

Read all the news on the series. Look at all the good stuff in the old series/vital continuity stuff - see it all going WHEEEE out the window. Also, this new series is going to be purely for getting viewing figures - they admitted that.

Quite apart from the rest of the news, I'm excited to hear that they've cast Simon Callow. That will forgive a multitude of sins.
