They practically have the hyposprays already; they're already working on them last I heard. I'll go with that.

True handheld hyposprays? Um, no. Try lugging around what's essentially a fire extinguisher tank on your bank and do triage. Yeah, right.
Microscopic fusion reactors? And what's going to build them? REALLY tiny tweezers? I'm gonna repeat this as many times as necessary. II to me is not an acronym for Infinite Improbability, it's a Roman number two. I'd rather have "Nate" or "NTG." Yikes. Deadly energy beams. Can you imagine the mess that'd make? Could you really create a "frequency fingerprint" for each gun, so you could identify the murder weapon? And don't go saying that only the military would have them, we all know that the black market can get any weapon.

I don't know how we'll build micro-fusion reactors. If I knew that, I'd be rich... Energy fingerprints? Nah. My point is, humanity tends to seek new ways to hurt one another before useful stuff that helps them...
