Forum remodelling

I think the new forums are nothing short of awesome, but I'd like to make a wish/request all the same: a T-Rex emoticon added in a future round of remodeling. Who's with me?

I dont really remember how the forum used to look like with the original 5M colors...

and maybe we could make a set of voy or sci-fi in general icons in the original 5M colors or something.....maybe a little clock icon that indicates soon would be nice

We also need a multi-exclamation mark filter, and a thread detailing all the rules of the fora, set as an announcement on all boards

I know. I've been deleting these threads for days. I don't want to disable unregistered posting, but I'm not sure there's another solution. I wonder if it's possible to get one of those spambot-blocker things for only unregistered posts?

Could you maybe disable guests from posting new topics, but still respond to posts? It's kind of a partial compromise in between.

That's just crazy enough to work!

However, another idea:

Create a "Guest" login, and have the password clearly marked on the site. Something like "soon", and have Zeke's email be set up as the destination for notification of password changes, just in case. Then, close all non-member posts. Guests who want to ask a question can login to guest, however, spambots won't be able to.

More importantly, the permissions for starting threads and replying to threads can be set seperately in phpBB. So it not only can work, it doesn't even require another forum mod.

Sounds like the end of "Texas Hold'em" threads etc. (and that's not the worst) is in sight! I have a good mind to add spambots to the Kill Things game. Only problem is, they'd start off on something like -1 if I had any say.

doof: "First we take Manhattan", performed by a number of artists, but I think Leonard Cohen wrote it (and also performed it) originally. Look at the post prior to my mentioning taking Berlin and it makes more sense.
