[color=#000000ost_uid0]I was referring to our collective responsibility to stand up for our unlucky fellow forumgoer and see to it, via petitions, pressure, browser advice, or whatever else would be appropriate, that the problem is fixed...er...sooner than soon. If that's not a contradiction in terms or anything.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Relax, mudshark -- it wasn't feeble. PHJ clearly got it, and so did I.

I take it from NAH's post that you haven't just chosen not to register but are having technical problems. What kind? I can look into it, or ask Owen to.[/colorost_uid0]

Zeke notices that the very post he just replied to wasn't unregistered

[color=#000000ost_uid0]And this, my friends, is why Zeke's title says "Like Kira, [iost_uid0]but slower.[/iost_uid0]"

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Oh, I'm registered. It's just that the software chooses not to recognize that. (The above post is a new anomaly -- more on that later but at least someone gets to actually see the member title you came up with for me.)

Back to the point, I registered when the Forums came back and made these posts in the "The New Forums: What and Why" thread:

Heigh-ho, looky here! New 5MV-looking forums! Nice job, Zeke (and graphics consultant Kira). I approve!
Good to be back, and I'll be catching up as time permits.

Hmm. Something strange going on here. I'm registered and logged in. My name is showing at the bottom of the main page, yet as soon as I move to another part of the forum, I'm a guest. Are my cookies off having fun by themselves and pretending to be me? Back to top [/quoteost_uid0]
After the first one, I realized that it was no longer saying "Welcome, mudshark" at the top of the page (the fact that I had to enter my s/n to make the first post should have been a tipoff, but oh well.) I find that the software is not logging me in automatically, as I specified, and if I log in each time, it puts my s/n in the "Active users" box, but still says "Welcome guest" at the top of the page.

I figured that this was just a glitch that would get worked out one way or another, and didn't worry too much about it.

The above post (reply to [bost_uid0]Sa'ar[/bost_uid0]) is a little odder. I've been making unregistered posts now and then with no trouble, but when I went to send this one, I got a message to the effect that my login status could not be determined, and that the administrator was not allowing guests to post. Okay, says I, after getting the same result several times, and log in, which action apparently posted the above automatically.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I'm thinking cookies might have something to do with this... :suspicious:[/colorost_uid0]

Sadly enough, I didn't. This from the guy who knew that Phineas Fogg went Around the World in Eighty Days.

Actually, the full name is Earnest Peak. There's a phantom ess in there somewhere. It's a rather strained pun.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Hey everyone!!

Thanks for all the nice words for my first fiver! Sorry it took me so long, I was off the Internet for seven or eight days, and I found out that "Symbiosis" had been published only late last night. So, thanks again! I`m really glad you enjoyed it. [/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]It`s me again,

First, I just want to say that if you click "Contact the author" after you`ve read Five Minute Symbiosis, you will find my email address, but it`s the wrong one. It goes "kal-el108@excite.com", but it actually should go "kal-el08@excite.com. It`s 08, and not 108. So, just in case someone tried, accidentally, for some reason unknown, to send me an email, I hope it didn`t go to the wrong address.

And second, my question goes to Kira or Zeke - is the DS9 episode "Defiant" taken? Because if it`s not, can I have it for fiving?

See you

Nic[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I'll fix the mistake. As for episode requests, the boards aren't the place; please stick to email for that.[/colorost_uid0]
