Long story short: Someone dies, and a Wikipedia editor invents a quote from the deceased. This fake quote is used in newspapers around the world. No citation was offered or sought. Sheesh, you'd think people would know to double-check facts for newspaper articles.

I love that latest Wikipedia hoax. The site is enormously useful, but that seems to make us increasingly blind to its severe limitations.
