A podcast interviews Phil Farrand.
He certainly doesn't sound like I thought he would. He also recaps why there won't be more Nitpicker's Guides. I had long gone with "he can't risk spending this much time on something that might get him sued by Paramount." Whether Paramount could succeed in suing him (short version: no, but it would still be a huge hassle for him to prove that they can't). I didn't know that he was planning a Star Wars guide including the novels. I didn't know that it wasn't the Trek lawyers that scared off his publishers, it was the Wars lawyers. I almost wonder if this should be on the Amazing Things I Learned Today thread, but that seems to have died and I don't like necroposting if I can avoid it.

A new contender for "most obscure Star Trek music track to be covered by an orchestra."
The Bartender Bit from Trouble With Tribbles. I was surprised to find this. Of course an orchestra would cover the main themes, the Inner Light, etc., but something this minor was a surprise.

Star Trek Deviantart Day Seven!
Mickey Mouse's gang as the TOS crew. As a fan of the classic Disney shorts the thing that bugs me the most is the shape of Horace Horsecollar's ears. For some reason they put Pete's ears on Horace's head. A rather nice painting of the Big Seven. I'm amused at Chekov's confusion. The TNG crew in chibi style. Most are good, but Pulaski hardly looks like Muldaur. The Stargate Atlantis cast as Star Trek aliens
