For me, the word guk will forever be associated with Phil Farrand's review of Who Watches the Watchers in The Nitpicker's Guide for Next Generation Trekkers. He argues that as proto-Vulcans, the Mintakans should have green blood, so when Picard is wounded by the arrow they should've said "What's that red guck coming out of the wound?" You can count on Phil to chainsaw apart the story logic whenever possible.
