I'm sure I offered to edit... well, if you missed it before, it's here again. I'd be perfectly happy to edit audiofivers.

Thank you. That's one domino down, only (whips out binoculars) ten million to go.

So, Zeke, what's it gonna be? Are all our dreams gonna come true, or are we gonna be shot down like that Duck Hunt dog that we all hate?

Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top. Or maybe you'd like this vial of top-of-the-line Borg nanoprobes. They were only used by this little old lady from Pasadena who used them to buff the wax in her super-stock car.

I'm neither for or against the idea particularly, but as an aside if it were seriously considered one-time member SCMoll would be a useful person to get in toich with - he, along with some friends, produced several Doctor Who fan audio adventures, so I'm sure at the very least he'd have some advice even if he didn't want to get directly involved.

Hey, if you find him send him over. I really REALLY want Zeke's blessing before I start hiring people.

I was thinking that the best bet would be to set up a YahooGroup devoted to the audiofiver creation. We can post our soundbites and worry about direction and so forth there without cluttering up the forum or revealing our Evil Master Plan. Mwahahahahahaha!

Hey, maniacal laughter can be refreshing.

KB&R?

Of course I mean hiring in its most abstract, economical sense. Economical as in "good luck getting any money doing this," of course.

Anyone else notice that I've become something of a smiley addict lately? Can't imagine where it came from. As long as I have the habit, though, only knowing how to make a smile and a wink is getting dull. What other smileys will automatically transmogrify into graphics in here?

Oh, sorry, I was looking the other way for a minute. There was this cool thing. It's gone now.

Well, I'm not going to make any audiofivers myself, but I've got no problem with others trying it. We can even see about hosting them on the site if they turn out well. I don't want any money changing hands, though.

The file I was referring to is called "videofiverdemo.wav," and you definitely had something to do with it, because you're the speaker. You seem to be trying out Daniel and Teal'c voices. I have no idea where I got this file, but it dates to September '04.

Could you e-mail that to me, by chance? My copy is stuck inside a glitchy Zip disk at the moment. I have Hejira's test, so if you don't have that I'd be glad to trade.

I would appreciate it if you'd post a newsbrief about the project with my e-mail address properly altered to scare away the trollers. [email protected], for example. I'll save creating the group until we have achieved critical mass with the staff.

How great would it have been, it have been able to get the Trek cast to do the fivers? Like at the end of shooting an episode, to just quickly do the fiver bit. I know it would have cost a hundred billion pounds (Or a billion billion Dollors, Or a trillion to the power of 6 Yen) But that would have been great, eh?
I not sure some would be so happy to take part though...Anthony Montgomery springs to mind....

One wonders if it'd be worthwhile to ask the New Voyages crew to voice the TOS fivers. I'm not gonna ask, though, because ever since the glory days of 5MSG I've wanted to voice an audiofiver, and no one's gonna stand in my way!

Come on, folks, we can't let the project die from lack of interest, like so many things on the web! I'm sure that all of you have been discouraged by other websites staying static for months and years on end when the creators just up and leave without telling anyone. Call it Trekkie pride! Fivies unite!

Yeah, fivie. I've chosen to use that as the term for a fiver fan, pending Zeke's declaration of an official term. Keep the e-mails coming!
