Since your browser transmits referral information (i.e. which site linked to this), they can see whether an authorized view is taking place (A Geocities website is loading the picture), or if it's hotlinked. Opening a new window and inserting the URL manually (or adding a space before the URL and hitting Enter again) overrides this behaviour.

As for the case - I prefer it less flashy, but it's looking quite nice. Good job!
