[color=#000000ost_uid0]It goes without saying that I completely support the fan campaigns to save [iost_uid0]Enterprise[/iost_uid0]. I'll be linking to the big ones in an upcoming newspost, and probably adding a prominent link on the front page. Thanks for the info.
(Anthony Baron... where have I heard that name before?)[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Enterprise took some sort of wierd shift this year... and perhaps alienated some families who viewed the shows?
It's a good sci-fi show, and perhaps with a few more Star Trek values would do some good to it I hope UPN gives Enterprise the chance to either let a new audience discover it, or that the old audience comes back[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Relax, Cel. I remembered what your name was. However, I distinctly remember an [iost_uid0]Anthony[/iost_uid0] Baron too -- from somewhere. Opium, it seems to me [iost_uid0]Enterprise[/iost_uid0] tried very hard to be about traditional Star Trek values in its first two seasons. It was all about the exploration, the adventure. Unfortunately, traditional Star Trek just doesn't bring in the ratings anymore. Granted, neither has the current approach -- but they had to try [iost_uid0]something[/iost_uid0], and we could have done far worse than the DS9-style storytelling of this season.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]Admittidly, I havent watched too much this season...college, theatre has kept me too busy on weekdays...
What I've seen isnt bad; the storytelling is cool. I was not talking of the storytelling, but of the content, which is steamy-er and may offset some families from watching it. I am a DS9 fan. And many Trekkies arent DS9 fans, as the format was different, the stories were darker, more involved...it was a good drama set in a sci-fi arena, not so much Trek-based... Enterprise is sitting somewhere in between NextGen and DS9, and there's an audience for that, it'll just take some time to find UPN should expect that Enterprise will have to find a new audience for the new format, and respect this. Besides, compared to many shows, this still is family viewing.[/colorost_uid0]

[color=#000000ost_uid0]I'm warming up to [iost_uid0]Enterprise[/iost_uid0], but it's still far from being my favourite show. The characters I like, and I can appreciate what they're trying to do with the show, but it's still too mediocre for the most part. Does seem to be getting better though, and who knows - TNG took two seasons before it really got into it's stride, so I reckon there's hope for it yet as far as plots and stories go. As for the threat of cnacellation - well, it just seems that American networks are far to ready to do that nowadays if the ratings if look as if they're going to go down. It's something that I'm not sure there is a solution for (except perhaps angry lynch mobs).[/colorost_uid0]
