For this year's silly birthday update, I'm gonna share something I made a while ago for someone else's birthday. In Wowbagger's Excelsior series, there's a bit where the main character Dovan decides two of his senior staff's names are too similar, so he actually orders one of them to go by his middle name instead. I've always found this very silly (especially since that name abbreviates to "Bev"). Two years ago, shortly before Wowbagger's birthday, I realized there was actually precedent for such a thing... done equally arbitrarily and played for laughs in one of his and my favourite anime series.

Thus: The New Name.

I've long considered doing this kind of subtitle-based comedy with something longer, so consider this a bit of a preview/test run. (And stay tuned for at least one real update before the end of the year.)
