What should I name it? I've been debating names, and most of them are female, so I hope I get a female dog. Anyway, my ideas are:

Andromeda
Cordelia
Buffy
Irulan
Xander
Tsarina
Eridani

Everyone else contribute names, and I may pick it. Think of it as a contest!

I like "Mintaka," even after reading Wilbur Smith's trite yawnfest. It's a star in the constellation Orion. There are a bunch of star names and meanings here.

"MyDog." Guaranteed to bring hours of "Who's on First?" kind of fun.

Khan (good for when you have to yell :D)

Romana (or Romanadvoratrelundar if you really prefer)
Ming the Merciless (more of a cat name, really)

Susan (as in Calvin, though there's always Invanova as well)

Out of all of those, Tsarina sounds the most awesome.

I was going to name my dog George, but I don't think you'd like that.

Well, I don't know about female names, but If it's a large breed, and it likes to lick toes, then call it Toevik.

I only say that because people keep calling MY dog that (my dog's name is Toevin, so you can understand why)

It's a cocker spaniel, and I'm getting it tomorrow. I've pretty much decided on Xander, but if anyone has any last minute (and serious) ideas, I'm all aural sensors. I mean ears.

There's a nice Russian name. It's also the name of my cat.

Xander is a good name. I like it.

The funniest part is that I suggested Xanth as a joke, Vedra said no, and now he's picking the closest thing to it.

(Why did I suggest Xanth? Because back in Grade 7, when my youngest brother was born, my friend Mike suggested we call him Xanth. And the name my parents picked? Michael. Go figure.)

Know what would be a cool name for a male dog? Balrog. Not only does it sound awesome, but if someone asks you what his name is, you can shout "Name him not!"

I tend to associate "Balrog" with the wussy guy from Street Fighter myself. Of course, it was the badass LOTR flame beast first, but I didn't hear of it until the movies...

It's be a good name for something like a mastiff or a Rottweiler, but a little absurd for a dachshund or a Pekingese. :D

Augustus is a bit obvious though, isn't it? I've always been a fan of Vespasian myself (a few more like him and the Roman Empire would have been around for a lot longer, methinks).

^ I believe the reason he's chewing everthing is because he is a PUPPY, (mine used to do that, now he chews on himself O_o)

I realize he's a puppy, but it's still kind of annoying. Also, sometimes he must smells weird things and he goes INSANE.

You haven't been making him watch season 5 of Andromeda, have you? I hear that that smells pretty bad ;)
