Employed!
I've just been hired by the school where I did my undergrad (which has since been assimilated by UBC) as a summer sessional lecturer. I get a proper salary and an office with my name on the door and everything. It's something to do while I finish writing my PhD thesis (I hope to be Dr. Sa'ar by the fall), and while I would like it to lead to something permanent, I'm not sure if it will. Still, it's better than being a starving grad student.

A door? A door you can close?! Wow, you are moving up in the world! In all my years of employment I've never had a door, never mind one with my name on it. I've only ever had corners. Large corners with three and four desks, but corners nonetheless, sometimes with mobile half-wall partitions and sometimes just with painted cinderblock.
Congratulations! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap: man, a door. |
Woohoo! :D

Good news!
Still hoping we'll cross paths in May, I'll be able to ask you if I can borrow five bucks now. |
I just realised something yesterday - after many years, I'm finally (not at all dark) Sa'ar Chasm in the classroom.

But all in all are you just another brick in the wall, another cog in the machine, or a truly special snowflake?
