It's sad, he's from Babylon 5, but I don't know him from that. I know him as Marcus on Days of our Lives. I grew up with him as Marcus and hearing this news saddens me. He just died. No one knows how yet. I read the story at the TrekBBS.

Whoa... that's so sad. I'm so sorry to hear...

My familiarity with B5 in general is about 5 episodes. But... when I was in the US last summer, I went to a production of [i:post_uid0]King Lear[/i:post_uid0]. And the next day, I flicked on Babylon 5 for the first time in five years (hadn't had much of an opportunity without cable, and the one episode I'd seen previously had been... um... pitiful. The one with the "exotic human mating ritual"? ::shudder::). Anyway, I'm watching, and the first scene's with Doctor Franklin, and I'm staring at him, going I [i:post_uid0]know[/i:post_uid0] that guy! I've seen him before!"

Flash of recognition and a quick check of credits confirms - he was the same actor who had played Edmund so brilliantly in [i:post_uid0]Lear[/i:post_uid0] just the day before. At which point I go, quote, "whoa." Admiration. Appreciation. Fade out.

That's about all I know about Richard Biggs... but it's enough to add, for me, a personal note to my sorrow to hear of his death. Mr. Biggs, may you rest in peace.[/color:post_uid0]

I saw this at the TBBS too. It's sad that he's gone, yes, but all the more so when you consider he was only 43.

I think the world has lost both a fine actor and a good man. :([/color:post_uid0]

I know.

Personally, I'm devastated. Even though Franklin was never one of my favourites on B5... it was so unexpected. When I read the news I was speechless for half an hour.

He was so young....[/color:post_uid12]

I have an uncle and aunt that are massive fans of the show - I don't know if they've heard yet.

What's really getting me is the fact that there are so few places actually mentioning it. Sad really.[/color:post_uid0]

well soapoperafan.com/days has a nice tribute to him.

They did the same thing for Ms. Waymire she also got her start on Days.

5MV is going to. Sa'ar is working on a memorial fiver.[/color:post_uid0]

An excellent idea, Zeke. If you could get away with mentioning it on Trektoday, it'd be a good idea to post it there I think.[/color:post_uid0]

As I type this, as a matter of fact. It won't be *quite* as funny as usual, given the occasion, but it should be a decent tribute from a fan.[/color:post_uid0]
