Annnnnnd here's part three. The overhaul of [i:post_uid0]This Just In[/i:post_uid0] is now complete, with a new FAQ and a couple more small improvements to the front page. With that, I can finally get back to the other sections -- a relief to me and probably to you, given that this took the whole week.

As promised, I've posted a poll on the new look of TJI and some alternatives to it. Please cast your vote -- the larger the turnout, the better I'll be able to gauge the readership's overall opinion. Don't hesitate to reply to the thread with any comments you may have. Speaking of which, today's comment thread applies to parts two and three of the overhaul (that's basically the new-look 2002 and 2003 articles plus the FAQ). Anything you guys have to say is welcome, even if it's critical -- I can't stress that last part enough. If you don't like the new TJI, [i:post_uid0]say so[/i:post_uid0]! You don't even need to bother being tactful if you don't want to. With a change this big, I really want to hear as many different voices as possible.

Okay, I'm out for tonight. See you tomorrow for an update with at least one fiver in it.[/color:post_uid0]

I noticed a broken link on the new TJI FAQ - the link to TJI #20. it links to "about/20.htm" or some such.

And since I'm one of the more quiet posters and haven't gotten around to it yet, I'd just like to say thanks to Zeke, who's really kept up his daily update commitment so far... 'tis much appreciated, and keep it up![/color:post_uid0]

Overall, it's very neat, but I'm just popping in to ask what the deal with this issue is.

I like the new look very much.[/color:post_uid0]

I think the different look is meant to reflect the fact that this particular article is "dated" 1902 -- in other words, it was written to pretend that it's a century-old article.[/color:post_uid0]

Yep, Marc's right. I was going for an aged-paper look with the background, and I changed a bunch of other details on the page to go for an old-style feel, if a very corny one.[/color:post_uid0]

oooh! A header image that uses PNG Alpha Transparency. *swoon* Shame IE doesn't support them (natively ;) ), but Moz likes it. :D[/color:post_uid0]
