One thing I'm determined to do in the coming months is clear out the backlog of submissions. It stretches back farther than you would believe. That work begins today with the first guest fiver to come through Derek's new automated submission system for 5MD: "Dax," by newcomer ceedj. (This isn't the oldest one by a long shot, but going in order would be pretty much impossible.) Enjoy!

DS9 fiver woohoo!

Quote:

Sisko: Why didn't you tell me about the affair?
Dax: Let it go, Benjamin.
Sisko: But they're coming to take you away!
Dax: Ha ha?
Sisko: Dax, that was...
Dax: ...not funny, I know.
LMAO xD Very nice fiver

Ilon: I submit that blah blah blah, joined Trill, blah blah blah, same memories, blah blah blah, here's a fiver, let's call it even, okay?
Sisko: I object!
Judge Judy Renora: On what grounds?
Sisko: I didn't even get to bribe you yet!
Heh. I like this scene. Especially Ilon in it.

Great fiver, ceedj. Hope to see more from you.

Superventriloquism, perhaps?

*Snicker*

A most entertaining fiver, though truth be told I have absolutely no recolection of that particular episode at all - I had to go and look it up.

I liked it.

I mean, "This drone liked this irrelevant television parody."

"Like"? Should we start calling you Hugh, perhaps? :P

I particularly liked this:

Quote:

Ilon: DON'T WAIT FOR THE TRANSLATION, ANSWER THE QUESTION NOW!
That has to be one of the silliest lines ever in a movie, and it had to be in Star Trek.

The fiver was an excellent debut, ceedj - I hope to see more!

Uh, you do know the historical reference for that, right? That wasn't written for Trek VI. It was from the Cuban missile crisis. Especially after Spock's "Only Nixon could go to China" comment, it was meant to underscore the Cold War parallels.

Zeke 01-08-2006 04:24 PM

You're both ahead of me. I didn't even get the Trek reference -- I thought it was just a funny line.

e of pi 01-08-2006 05:31 PM

This drone got it. Duh.

Celeste 01-08-2006 07:38 PM

DS9 Fivers are just as good as Voyager Fivers, yes yes.

I do now - I remembered the outlines of the accounts of the Cuban missile crisis, but I didn't remember them down to that particular line. It's been some time since I studied that particular event in history. Thanks for making me refresh my memory, evay!

I'm surprised they didn't have someone bang on a desk with their shoe and yell "We will bury you!"
