Even the Time Lord’s dog K-9 will make an appearance.
“Fans will be thrilled,” said a senior TV source. “With four of the Doctor’s assistants in one show it’s a dream come true.”
Leading the way in the line-up will be Billie, 25, as Rose Tyler along with the rest of the Tyler family – mum Jackie (Camille Coduri, 41), dad Pete (Shaun Dingwall, 37) and boyfriend Mickey (Noel Clarke, 31). They will hook up with the Tardis traveller’s latest assistants Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman, 2 and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate, 39).
Also on hand to help out the Doc (David Tennant, 36) will be his old companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen, 59) as well as Torchwood boss Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman, 40).
The TV source said: “This is the daddy of all shows. The writer Russell T Davies really wants to pull out all the stops for the finale next year.”
TV gossips say the next series will be the last overseen by Davies, 44, the man who revived the BBC sci-fi smash hit three years ago.
But he will also work on three more hour-long specials, due to be screened in 2009.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.

Well, you thought it couldn't get any worse. I liked it fine. Anyway, isn't it a little early to panic? Even if the Star were the world's most reliable source, this season finale is eight months away.

Yes. But these tabloid details have an uncanny habit of turning out true when they sound awful....

I could cry. I think its a simply wonderful idea. Though I was a little disappointed with the 'Companions'. I though it meant... like older companions. But I'm pretty happy with Rose/Sarah/Donna/K9/Jack. Jackie is always good fun. Pete is just dull. Martha... well there isn't anything wrong with her. But if you've got the original Rose, you don't really need Rose Mark 2, do you?
Still... roll on series 4. Deeply excited to see Donna in the show.

Ugh. Going on past performance, I am... not hopeful. Very not hopeful.

Wowbagger 10-13-2007 11:11 PM

I'm trying not to read, because I hate spoilers. But isn't the Star the same paper that reported Tom Cruise as Scotty in Trek XI?

PointyHairedJedi 10-14-2007 11:06 AM

They are hardly a bastion of journalistic responsibility and integrity, that's true.

They do, however, have bare breasts on page 3, so it all evens out.

The Star is pretty much the lowest of the low in terms of British tabloids. MY step-brother actually appeared on page three some years ago, I'm told - he'd collected a large number of Beano annuals, and for some bizarre reason they reported on it, and put it right beneath the page three girl.

Richard Desmond, the propriator, used to own a whole slew of porn titles as well, but he sold those. He still runs two x-rated channels though.
