^ Now thatÂ’s just mean ;) (this from a girl that once had a gerbil named hamster)
From Standbacks list, Trinity stands out to me, especially Trin for a nickname. And if you've ever seen the movie Treasure Planet, you could use the name Amelia, which is the name of the kitty captain, she was the coolest thing in that movie. :D http://img14.photobucket.com/albums/...meliasmall.jpg[/color:post_uid0] |
Anymore, I just call 'em all "Cat" (pronounced "Kett", [i:post_uid0]a la[/i:post_uid0] Ignatz Mouse, in Krazy Kat) -- they'll know who you're talking to.
And yes, they're better than roommates (well, most of them. ;))[/color:post_uid0] |
Oh, well, if it's a girl, then Irulan, definetly. I would suggest a few Bene Gesserit names, but I can't seem to recall any at the moment other than Gaius Helen Mohiam, which is hardly catchy. There's always Jessica I suppose.[/color:post_uid0]
|
Mega Man has a cat called Tango.[/color:post_uid0]
|
I'm gonna name my future cat "Occupant".
Don't steal my idea though :( You could go with the narrator in [i:post_uid0]Fight Club[/i:post_uid0]'s idea, and name it "Entourage". :)[/color:post_uid0] |
Hmm, I tried naming my cats after stuff I liked, like an art period or music style, that the cat reminds me of.
Or you could just name it "SuperCuteBall'oFir" because really, that's what all cats are :)[/color:post_uid0] |
Apart from Standback, we're not helping much, are we? :D[/color:post_uid0]
|
^ Speaking for myself, no, I suppose not. Just a me and cat thing, I guess. ;)[/color:post_uid0]

This is getting confusing... :D[/color:post_uid0] |
Name it a Star Trek character you just want to yell at, lol.[/color:post_uid0]

KATHRYN! Get away from that steak! No coffee for you! [quote:post_uid0]And if you've ever seen the movie Treasure Planet, you could use the name Amelia, which is the name of the kitty captain, she was the coolest thing in that movie.:D [/quote:post_uid0] Aw, missed that one. Still, it`s a nice name... [quote:post_uid0]Sneeuwwitje? Sneewittchen? [/quote:post_uid0] What is this second one? Snow Witch? I`d put three extra question marks but I`m afraid of Zeke. [quote:post_uid0]I might also suggest that all female members of this forum have rather nice names; your cat may consider adopting any one of them. [/quote:post_uid0] I`ll suggest that to her, and will inform you of her decision, :D [quote:post_uid0]Sansa (or just about any nice name from Song of Ice and Fire - I'm a big fan... ) [/quote:post_uid0] Get out of town! I just got myself [i:post_uid0]A Game of Thrones[/i:post_uid0] on Saturday. I saw my sister reading it, checked the book out a little, and it looked so cool! So I asked her to borrow it to me.[/color:post_uid0] |

My friend, you are in for a treat. :) [i:post_uid0]Ice and Fire[/i:post_uid0] has been, like, my #1 favorite book (series) since I found it in 2000. Martin is brilliant in every single aspect of writing. Complex and gripping plots, wonderful (and numerous) characters, best job of world creation since Tolkien (except without the slow, plodding narrative...), and all so original and detailed... OK, I'll be quiet now.[/color:post_uid0] |

Snow White. :D[/color:post_uid0] |
I`m starting with the reading today, :)
When I saw the map of "England" (The Seven Kingdoms?) on the beginning of the book, I was mesmerized and found myself observing the map for half an hour, :D I just knew I had to read that thing.[/color:post_uid0] |
[quote:post_uid0="catalina_marina"]Snow White. :D[/color:post_uid0][/quote:post_uid0]
Argh... Didn`t I say something related to Snow White? :O[/color:post_uid0] |
You did, but Sa'ar was the one who started it. ;)[/color:post_uid0]

::blink blink:: Map of England? How come you call it that? Is there much similarity between the Seven Kingdoms map and that of England? If so, that's very interesting, because the series is (very loosely) based on the War of Roses, so... In any case, it's definitely a neat map... And neater yet is the way we actually hear about so many of the places on it, and then visit them, one by one... (goes back to shutting up)[/color:post_uid0] |

That IS England, :D Of course, with different cities and names of the rivers, mountains, islands, etc, so it`s impossible to tell that from reading the book, but from looking at a map, you can recognize England (if you like geography very, very much like I do)... :D[/color:post_uid0] |
OK, that is [i:post_uid0]extremely[/i:post_uid0] neat... I'd love to hear what places correspond to what (though you might want to read a bit and see what places are the important ones in the book before you go too far down the list...)[/color:post_uid0]

I started reading, and it seems Scotland is the Haunted Forest, where the monsters live, :D Although my book is in Croatian, so I don`t know if the original name is "Haunted Forest". Might be Haunted Woods, Cursed Woods, Cursed Forest... I`d like it better if the book were in English, the last 5 books I read were in English, I got used to it...but, my sister got this Croatian translation for her birthday, so... And the Frozen Shore is also Scotland... However, is it the Frozen Shore, or the Frozen Coast, or the Icy Coast, or the...? :D[/color:post_uid0] |
