This is going t sound slightly odd...

...But I need the name of a famously unsucessful baseball team.

Anyone?

Sa'ar Chasm 09-16-2005 06:08 PM

The 'Spos.

Aka the Montreal Expos.

PointyHairedJedi 09-16-2005 06:15 PM

I was thinking more in the way of American teams, but they'll do.

Don't worry, it doesn't sound slightly odd.....

....It sounds downright wyrd

Sa'ar Chasm 09-16-2005 09:43 PM

Well, considering that Canada doesn't have its own professional baseball league and both our teams play in what are technically American leagues, I figure it counts.

OK, OK, one's American and the other one is National.

If there's one thing I've learned from my dad over the years, it's that the truest definition of futility is being a Chicago Cubs fan.

Right. Can't use the Red Sox anymore, but Cubs will do...

Ginga 09-17-2005 02:44 AM

The Texas Rangers, the Atlanta Braves, they all do pretty poorly, don't they?

KillerGodMan 09-17-2005 03:57 AM

I'd say the Expos or the Jays, but I know NOTHING about baseball, so I'm kinda useless.

Now if HOCKEY was involved, that'd be a different story...

whoiam 09-17-2005 04:00 AM

Or in football, the ultimate underachievers - Tottenham Hotspur...

PointyHairedJedi 09-17-2005 06:51 AM

Sheesh, just one would have been fine. :P

What about Bath City, the first student team to get into hte leagues for 101 years, was it last year or the year before? Sometime like that. They were right at the bottom, but still quite an achievement...

whoiam 09-17-2005 06:36 PM

This idea is to give a team that's achieved nothing. A student team making it into the league proper *is* an achievement, and so is the opposite of what I was trying to mention.

I know...but staying on-topic is dull

MY excuse is that fact that I know NOTHING about baseball. NOTHING!

*cough*

I think you'll find that it's pronounced "nuzzing". ;)
