Please help out my 7th graders!

My 7th grade students have a graphing project for their math class, and part of the project involves making graphs out of data that they collect. They've asked me to post links to their online surveys, so if you don't mind, take a few seconds and vote. If you don't find your preferred answer among the choices, feel free to just vote randomly. The project is due on Monday, so please vote before then. Thanks! :)

(I know there are a lot of them, but they're only one question each, and no individual student has given me more than two links.)

Boy, things sure have changed since I was in Grade 7.

I like the way "Supreme" is a topping.

Of those? The one that pays me.

Excuse my rant, which follows.

Why the heck didn't Schiperke's make the dog breed list? Look at this face:

EDIT: Molly wouldn't stay still because she fears the camera, so no close-ups, however, I got these:

Resistance to petting them is futile!

Umm, one thing. It's not Caca-Cola. It's Coca-Cola.

Thin mints rule, except for my mom's chocolate-dipped trefoils. Dang, now I'm gonna have to do downstairs.

Yeah...did I point out that all surveys were developed by 7th graders, and all spelling is theirs? :)

(Okay, except "ambidextrous," because I was showing that kid how to set up a survey and I typed it in for her.)

Some of my favorites weren't included either. And I was annoyed with the Girl Scout Cookie survey kid, because she didn't offer to sell me any. :p

Hey, there's a basketball team called the Mavericks?
I completely and totally did not know that.

Really.

KillerGodMan 03-03-2006 03:43 AM

What? No Belgian Malinois? (My dog) Not cool!

No Newfoundland either! :(:(:(

e of pi 03-03-2006 04:19 AM

Newfies are cool. A friend of my mom breeds them for show. Really big, though.

KillerGodMan 03-03-2006 04:36 AM

So?

It is as far as I'm concerned. :D

Dallas, I think -- expansion club. They've been around for a while.

And shouldn't "schipperke" have two 'p's?

Lostoyannaya 03-03-2006 12:19 PM

My dog is a Saluki....but no-one's ever heard of those! Wow, we didn't get to do these surveys in year seven...the closest thing we did was reading a newspaper and counting the number of letters in a word, words in a sentence and sentence in a paragraph, then work out a formula. ^^;;.

I love Molly the dog!

Thanks. She says "Feed me!" And, while I can pronounce it, I cannot spell the name of the breed. And judging from the common usage of the abreviation, skip, not many other people can either. :)

Lostoyannaya 03-03-2006 11:18 PM

I've not heard of that breed...but she's cute anyway. Our dog says "Feed me" alot too...only not so today since she's just come back from the vets. But Schipperke is a good name for a breed of dog. ^^

"Skip" is actually pretty appropriate, since "schipperke" works out to "little skipper", coming from the breed's use as watchdogs on barges and canal boats in its native Belgium.

e of pi 03-04-2006 01:59 AM

Yeah. I mentioned that to Ddoof in the chat yesterday.

Opium 03-04-2006 07:53 AM

DACHSHUNDS MADE THE LIST! WOOT!

Anyways, some very good questions! But I have to admit I didn't answer any of the American sports ones-I don't know American sports. Usually I'd just mess up the answer, but these are 7th graders-I can't lie to 'em!

(I hope that changes before I have kids...)

e of pi 03-04-2006 06:14 PM

I have a feeling you don't have to worry about those questions. I'm a teenage male, and I don't know, so I wouldn't worry.

Chancellor Valium 03-04-2006 06:50 PM

I did a few, but I couldn't be bothered with going through all of them...

Lostoyannaya 03-04-2006 06:51 PM

My teenage male friend once sewed through his finger on a Brother sewing machine and didn't worry, so I won't think I will, either.

I once -accidentally- stapled my finger to a piece of paper
