I saw the first part. Having a soft spot for 50s era period dress, I also liked the cinematography.

The eyes on the aliens were an intriguing departure: if you look closely, they have distinct coloured irises. :)[/color:post_uid0]

I cought bits of two or three episodes when it was on the BBC not that long ago - just enough to baffle the spluck out of me.

Hopefully we'll get it on DVD at some point and I can watch the whole thing through.[/color:post_uid0]

It's apparently on cable for me, but I never bothered catching it. Is it good?[/color:post_uid0]

It's Spielberg, which speaks for itself.

Aside from that, I've really only seen good reviews for it.[/color:post_uid0]

Well I finally got to watch the first episode. Pretty good stuff, but a bit on the slow-moving side. My mom was bored to death. I think the aliens are a bit cheesy, but since it's supposed to validate all those 1950s alien sightings... :shrugs:

Will comment more when I've watched more episodes...[/color:post_uid0]

Well, I've finally watched the last episode, and I think it was pretty good on the whole, even though I felt that the final episode was a bit anti-climatic and the series peaked (in terms of tension and narrative drive) somewhere in the eighth and ninth episodes.

What caught my attention in the final episode was this little scene in which two of the characters are talking in a car, and one asks the other a question, and he replies: "Pie." And she's like, "What?" And he says something like, "Find me a place to eat, and I'll tell you the answer."

Oddly enough, the biggest expressway (or highway, if you're American) in Singapore is known as the PIE. Stands for the Pan-Island Expressway, and everyone calls it the P-I-E, but.... :snerf: PIE![/color:post_uid0]
