Episode III Trailer
Well, those of you in the US who are OC fans should have already seen the Star Wars Trailer. I was not aware that it was playing last night, so instead, I downladed it this morning. Buaha.
Can I just say, whoa? The trailer itself didn't really blow me away like the Return of the King trailer did way back when. But it has definatly peaked my interest. Palpatine, you bizzatch. Why can't it be May now!? |
lol, wouldn't want to say that to his face :P
|
I hate it, just for the fact that my 18th birthday will forever be known as the day episode III came out. And the day my party got pushed back a day because of it. :P
I can't view the trailer, though. I downloaded it, but it won't play. I don't know why. Oh well, I can imagine. I'm picturing space, and some funky aliens, lazers, and dramatic dialog. Am I right? |
I saw the link to the trailer on LJ today, then I saw the trailer again when I went to go see the movie Robots
|
Somewhere, George Lucas is tossing another log of money on the fire and cackling as he prepares to screw us all again by raising our expectations.
|
I haven't yet seen this. I have, however seen the spoof version, which I'm sure is probably infinitely better. :D

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice... not.
Don't get me wrong, I love the original trilogy and I actually kind of enjoyed Menace and Clones, at least on first viewing. But since then, I've developed a much more discriminating taste for movies that are sprung from creativity (Zach Braff's Garden State, The Life Aquatic, or just about anything from Pixar) or from a true love of the material (Peter Jackson's LotR trilogy and, I expect, the upcoming King Kong). I just think Lucas is sick of his own material, for which I can't particularly blame him, but it's lowered my expectations for Sith significantly. |

Yeah, I meant to say "since then" in that sentence. Oh wait, I did.
And Rat Race is still hilarious, if not original, because Seth Green and John Cleese rule. |

Er, that is to say, uh, I only like intelligent movies that are both deep and culturally relevant. No, wait, I don't catch those either. Hm, I really don't watch many movies anymore. I think the last movie I saw in a theater is The Incredibles (Aside: Pixar's new movie doesn't look terribly interesting, but Pixar has gained such a level of respect and trust from me, that I'm willing to go see it anyway). But I think I'll go see Episode III anyway. I'm not going to fight for an opening night seat, and it's possible I won't make it there until it's in the dollar theater, but I do think I'll go see it at some point, just to say I've seen it. After that the only movies I expect to watch this year are going to be Serenity whenever it decides to be released and, of course, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which I may even see about camping out for tickets for. |
Sounds exactly like me. I went to see The Life Aquatic a month or so ago, and before that... yeah, I think it was The Incredibles for me too, on opening night back in November. I'm mostly content to wait; the only one that I've been foiled in my repeated attempts to watch is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I haven't really been motivated to hand over my well-earned stipend by anything else -- though I from what I've seen and heard, I also expect The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will be prying the full opening night fare from my pocket.

Is it just me, or does it seem a bit odd to start filming a series of books with book II? I know GL did it with star wars, but that was different, Narnia is more of an ongoing story.......It would make more sense to start with The Magician's Nephew, simply because of the continuation of the stories.....?
|
The Magician's Nephew wasn't the first novel written.
|
That would explain the confusion. But does that excuse not filming it first?

Is it just me, or did the trailer consist mostly of scenes from other, better movies?
The last movie I watched voluntarily was Spider Man 2. I think I've watched only one movie in the interim, Meet the Fockers, and that was under protest. My friends back in Kelowna have abysmal taste in movies. Anyway, I've just remembered I have spectra to acquire, so I should get off the computer and go do something useful. |
just watched both trailers posted by neo - this film looks like it could make up for Episode I........
