First off, the first episode of [i:post_uid0]Scream of the Shalka[/i:post_uid0] is up on the BBC Cult site.

Second, I found a very funny fan site run by a fella called Charles Daniels. You don't really have to be a DW geek to find it funny either.[/color:post_uid0]

For those who don't know, news about the new series of Doctor Who can be found at http://gallifreyone.[/color:post_uid0]

Where can I get some Gallifreon? (It's the coolant they use in time-stasis pods).[/color:post_uid0]

I think they carry it at Whom Depot (sorry, sorry)[/color:post_uid0]

Gallifrey. That's freaky.

See, just now during my boring-ass bioinformatics lecture I was trying to come up with a good first name for one of the characters in the novel I'm working on. His last name was Morton, so I was sitting in lecture spinning my pen and going, "Morton... Morton... what kind of first name goes well with Morton?"

Yep, you guessed it. Gallifrey Morton.

Now you're telling me that Gallifrey, a name I just pulled out from some dark obscure corner of my mind, is some kind of Doctor Who reference? I think I've already mentioned before on the forum that I've never even been within five miles of a Doctor Who episode, so there's abso-fragging-lutely no way I would have known.

So, this is the [i:post_uid0]second[/i:post_uid0] time a startling coincidence involving me, Doctor Who and this forum has occurred.

Should I be freaked out?[/color:post_uid0]

What the frell? :O[/color:post_uid0]

Scooter 02-09-2004 09:06 AM

Well, the link should be http://gallifreyone.com o' course.

So, let's see, you picked the name of the Doctor's home planet (for so Gallifrey is) out of thin air after having successfully avoided Doctor Who your entire life. I think that means that you must be a lost regeneration of a famous Time Lady, tragically suffering from amnesia (much like Agatha Christie). Don't worry, your past libves will all come back to you eventually.

Word in your ear. If you see something that looks like a trash can with a plunger sticking out... run.[/color:post_uid0]

catalina_marina 02-09-2004 09:50 AM

Oh, right, there was no .com at the end. It still doesn't work, but at least now it doesn't refer to my school anymore.

PS. Try editing out the comma.[/color:post_uid0]

Crikey. Usually to resurrect a thread this dead you need a lightning rod and a hunchbacked assitant.

Anyway, I think the link that Scooter means is this one. BBCi's [i:post_uid0]Doctor Who[/i:post_uid0] site is also a good place for news. According to it, a producer for the new series has been chosen, which is good.

Oh, and just in case anyone is at all in any way interested, I read on the BBCi Who site that another ebook is on it's way.[/color:post_uid0]

Come to think of it, I think I [i:post_uid0]have[/i:post_uid0] seen something of that description in the laboratory I work in. :O

NOOOO I can't run from the lab! It's an experimental module! I'd fail it if I refuse to step into a lab! ::dies::[/color:post_uid0]

catalina_marina 02-11-2004 12:48 PM

You'll fail if you die, too, so get back up on your feet already! ;)[/color:post_uid0]

Scooter 02-11-2004 04:18 PM

Actually she'd probably get an "incomplete"...

So dying is an option.[/color:post_uid0]

I did once encounter the Nestene Conciousness, but it turned out that it was my sisters' Sea Monkeys tank after she'd forgotten about it for two months. Not pretty, I can tell you.[/color:post_uid0]

Scooter 02-12-2004 12:13 AM

I always thought Nestenes were cool and refreshing with just a little lemon.[/color:post_uid0]

I've only just this minute noticed my new title. I'm ashamed to admit that I had to go look the name up before I got it.

I prostrate myself before you, Zeke (and not just because I tripped over my own shoelaces either).[/color:post_uid0]

Hey, Cat has got a new member title too! Neat-o![/color:post_uid0]

Zeke 02-12-2004 02:09 PM

Almost [i:post_uid0]everybody[/i:post_uid0] has a new member title. I was having fun yesterday. :D[/color:post_uid0]
